Time of Birds

I was foraging for cleavers and driftwood when I came across the pile of orange feathers!
An unfortunate  Flicker became someone's supper, but the feathers remained my gift!
They were like the colors of this evening's sunset behind the holy mountain.

Canyon Wren
I've been painting birds on found bark.  I enjoy searching for unique driftwood along
Lake Lawton's shore and now have a long list of favorite birds I'd like to paint,
perhaps a skunk will be included also.  :)

Happy Springtime folks!

Spring

We could use some rain around here!  It sure would coax the
wildflowers out and make me happy.  I'm foraging cleavers
in the post oak forest by the lake (it makes a wonderful tea),
and chickweed is growing like crazy in my own yard.
I add it to my stir fries or eggs.

Oklahoma's state tree, the Redbud, also
blossomed into edible magenta.

Spring is my favorite season.
I'm reminded of how beautiful life can be.

Who is with us?

i know some people who are going through extremely difficult times,
it makes my situation look like a bed of roses.

still, we all need to feel
God's love and protection.
we need to know that family, friends
and angels are with us too…
