HEALTH: My Fresh Medicine Bag

Fresh gatherings into the medicine bag,,,

But you have made me strong as a charging bison, you've honored me with a festive parade.  Psalm 92:10

I got attacked by the chigger bugs - this country girl still hasn't learned her lesson.
I got a shot though early in the week and it helped with the symptoms.

Last week I got a hallelujah test result...
A spirometry test showed my lungs are <46.
My lungs are much younger than my actual age they said. ha!

Breathing exercises are good.
Breathe in (nose), hold, exhale fully (mouth).
Repeat throughout the day.
It's cleansing and calming.

Sing praises.
Speak kind things with your breath.
Play a flute or horn.

Silence is also healing.

Exhale....

NATURE: Creating my garden of Eden....

Grateful for the rain!
Every thirsty soul is drinking it in...

Lily sent me cilantro seeds which grew into three big bunches!
I've been eating fresh cilantro every day for weeks now!
 It's so healthy & delicious!

Greg & I worked in our yard/garden today...

My zen prairie plot on the right is lush - I've run out of room to plant...
So Greg is preparing another plot for me on the left side!
I look forward to filling this corner with plants, flowers and herbs...

The prickly pear cactus is blooming all around Prairie Hill (and in our yard!)
Isn't it beautiful?  Looks like a yellow rose....

It's a beautiful, peaceful spring on our hill ~ the rain has been magnificent.

Wish you a blessed Memorial weekend.

NATURE: I have daisies...

I have untamed daisies on my tiny plot of green earth!

Slow down spring
so that I can wear
many daisy days in my hat

It's raining on Prairie Hill... and I'm doing a happy rain dance...
Every bit of life is drinking it in.
storm clouds above...
Wishing you a BEAUTIFUL weekend.

NATURE: Spring and Friends

In the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge today....

With our dear friends, Dennis & Lavonne
visiting from Colorado.

A female collard lizard
A male collard lizard courting females.
Prairie Flax
Barrel Cactus

The weather was perfect,,, and we were
treated to bright flowers and bold lizards.

I   leave   you   with   a   few   words   from   John   O'Donahue...

When one flower blooms, spring awakens everywhere.

Nature is the direct expression of the divine imagination.

Take time to see the quiet miracles that seek no attention.

The secret and the sacred are sisters. When the secret is not respected, the sacred vanishes. Consequently, reflection should not shine too severe or aggressive a light on the world of the soul

NATURE: Beautiful Female Bunting

I found this beautiful (dead) female bunting in our yard this morning.
I almost missed it laying in the grass - green on green.
I think it hit the big living room window
that reflects back prairie hill and sky....

A journal sketch and then I buried it in the bird graveyard - my corner garden plot.

I kept a few tiny feathers....

'My' three sparrows on the back porch are getting so big.
It won't be long before they learn how to fly.

NATURE: Tornado Warning

my greenhouse

beware of thorns and stickers!
northwest
north - Prairie Hill - on the other side is Lake Lawtonka (with tornado warning)
rainbow in the east
A beautiful thunderstorm this evening turned into a sudden beeping alarm on my
cell phone with message to take cover - our area was under a tornado warning.
For just a time, Zody & I sat in the closet.  The skies were very eerie, but the momentary
glimpse of the rainbow to the east gave me peace in the storm...
