I think it's safe to say, THE YEAR IS OVER!
The joys and pains,,, the bitter and sweet of 2013.

I welcome 2014
as in the words of Rumi,,,
'be a blank paper,
an empty spot in the ground
for seed to take root....'

May it be good to you -
kind to you
and astound you -
2014.

Thank you for following my year.
Whether you comment or not, I appreciate you
and pray great blessings over you.
May you understand the beauty of your soul
and power of your path on earth....

As often as you do this...

His body, his blood - my healing, my victory.

For as often as you eat this bread, and drink this cup,

you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

I Cor. 11:26

I'm not religious. I believe in Jesus -
not the western church ideas or idols type of Jesus,
but the one whose love and voice I know.

Over the years he's fixed me.  Got me out of some big messes
and turned everything around so that it would work out just right.

I feast on his goodness, gentleness and glory
and it's the sweetest taste to my soul.

White Horses...

encaustic on panel
I have no title for it yet....

It speaks different things to me - this work with two white horses.
It seems somewhat magical, spiritual and prophetic.

It was warm enough today to open the studio door and window
and create just this one encaustic piece.  It was enough.

Looking back and ahead...

I make a big deal about leaving a year behind and starting a
new year.  I go through my journal and read through all the events
of the past 12 months and then I start to think about the year ahead
with hope and anticipation.   How will the blank slate fill up?
What will be fate? What will come to pass because of my own
perseverance or patience?,,,or my own surrenders and evolution
of soul?  What about God?  How & where will he lead me?
And what will happen around the world?

How do you feel about starting the new year?
Do you crave certain experiences? Are there things you'd like to try?

I want to ride a horse.
I want to paint & draw animals.
I want to visit NYC.
And could I just please, not walk in offense?
I want my soul to grow & molt into a grace-being.

Peaceful Christmas

Light. I know not a single word fine enough for light,,,
holy, beamless, bodiless,
inaudible floods of light.
-John Muir

Greg & I have enjoyed our share of sweets, but we've been good about walking
and enjoying the beauty outdoors.   We're enjoying a long, peaceful and fun
holiday break together!

Merry Christmas to all of you!
Peace, light and love.

Iced Post Oaks

Inspired by the beautiful ice-covered landscape and trees,
I had to make an iced Post Oak of course.

Weapons on my tree!
Here's how some of our trees look now,,,
look at those 12-14" ice daggers!

There was lots of sunshine the first part of the day and it started
melting around here like a Salvador Dali painting. :)

When the sun disappeared though - it stopped.  I don't mind
the icescape because it's so different and beautiful right now...

Hope your days are filled with beauty!

Presenting the glitzy and glamorous Prairie Hill...

I've been walking in the most glamorous glittering Prairie Hill today!  I've never seen the likes of it!
It's like diamonds and crystals have been sprinkled all over the land.  And because it was so immensely beautiful, I spent as much time as possible in its icy glory - absorbing light and majesty.

I'm giving winter a standing ovation.
